Also, Jack Hsu (\u8a31\u6b63\u6770), the frontman and Erhu specialist, rocked AsianInNY’s Christmas Extravaganza Party in Dec. 2010.\u00a0 The whole band also showcased their amazing talents in front of huge crowds at the 12th Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade and Cultural Festival.\u00a0 In April 2011, the Hsu-nami band will have their Taiwan homecoming Tour and will perform at Spring Scream Festival.\u00a0 Don’t miss it!<\/p>\n

Blazing the stages of the New York city area with their fiery brand of progressive rock, The Hsu-nami has been building a name and gaining fans since its inception in 2005 with an explosive live show and exceptional musicianship. Behind two independent releases, \u201cEntering the Mandala\u201d (2007), and \u201cThe Four Noble Truths\u201d (2009), The Hsu-nami has put together an impressive series of significant performances, including headlining festivals in New York City, Philadelphia PA, Boston MA, St Louis MO, Seattle WA Vancouver B.C, and Toronto ON, as well as playing New York\u2019s Citi Field (cap. 42, 000) and Times Square. They have also shared the stage with major acts, both domestic and international: Yellowcard (USA), Nightmare of You (USA), Bowling for Soup (USA), Chthonic (Taiwan), Van Fan (Taiwan), Dazzle Vision (Japan) and High and Mighty Color (Japan).<\/p>\n

An international renowned progressive rock band from the United States. The Hsu-nami, named after the frontman Jack Hsu, became known as the first \u201cProgressive Erhu Rock\u201d band in the world. The Hsu-nami integrates an amplified \u201derhu\u201d, a two-string spike fiddle used in Chinese classical and folk music, into an instrumental progressive rock sound. Their music is marked by virtuosic erhu melodies and shredding licks, in place of vocals, as intertwined by heavy guitar riffs, tasteful guitar solos, funky rhythms, and metal-driven rock drumming. Part of the new-fusion rock movement, the Hsu-nami redefines the 1960s and 1970s fusion rock sound.<\/p>\n

Hsu-nami\u2019s music was featured in the 2008 Summer Olympic in Beijing. The track \u201cRising of the Sun\u201d was the theme music representing the Chinese Basketball team entrance theme.<\/p>\n
