Go Chic hit the scene a few years back with brightly coloured tights and short shorts, laughing and joking with the crowd as they pumped out raw, catchy, dance-electro. Since then, the band has lost a couple of members, gained a male drummer, graduated to silver tutus and seized a coveted spot as one of Nike\u2019s “10 Top Taiwanese Bands” (at the company\u2019s NIKE SPORTSWEAR NIGHT PARTY). They’ve played with such notable acts as Vicarious Bliss (Ed Banger FR), Dandi Wind (CA), Shitdisco (Dim Mak UK) and Death Is Not My Aim (JP).\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Go Chic describes their music as \u201cElectro-Hyphy-Chicks, Hybridized Punk-Blues-Rock\u201d or \u201csound like Peaches, CSS, Le Tigre\u201d. However, it is far too simple to depict them as merely an electro punk band after listening to their debut album- I am Confused. \u201c2010\u201d, puts together electro punk\/electro-garage-rock elements that sound like the spark of when Soulwax meets Garbage. 8-Bit inspired tunes reminds people of the 8-Bit Thrash craze led by Crystal Castles. Striding on the steps of Disco-Funk is \u201cDance With Her\u201d, a perfect tribute to the Disco Punk spirit of DFA. Not to mention \u201cWe\u2019re All Lovers & Runners\u201d, where they have a sniff of 80\u2019s New Wave, which is the \u201chappiest\u201d track in this album.\u00a0 I am Confused, takes us through a delightful experience back in the 90\u2019s indie scene, where vocalist Ariel raps like Princess Superstar and at the same time captivates us with a voice that wonderfully parodies Shirley Manson\u2019s(Garbage). The amazing energy that comes out of every song reminds me of the \u201cNew Wave of New Wave\u201d Elastica that emerged from the Pre-Britpop days and has every ability to rise as the leading Riot Girrrlz of today!!!<\/p>\n
