Ho Jin Yun, director of the renowned musical the \u2018Last Empress,\u2019 which has represented Korea\u2019s original musical for the past 15 years, has gathered up his best, all-star creative staff to fascinate the audience with a brand new musical that brings a story from a century ago to life on stage at Lincoln Center.<\/p>\n

The musical \u2018Hero\u2019 had its world premiere in Seoul in 2009 commemorating Chunggun An\u2019s centenary for his martyrdom. The musical\u2019s production costs were 4.6 million dollars and took 5 years of preparation! At the time, it received a standing ovation every day and won 12 musical awards in Korea.<\/p>\n

Alluring set designs (including the evolutionary stage technology that presents a life-size train on stage) and lightings, along with the simple, but touching lyrics and music of the show led it to become the no.1 musical in Korea. Moreover, 34 musical numbers, including \u2018the chase\u2019 on a 7.2m high structure through yamakasi, \u2018arirang\u2019 which makes audience burst in laughter, \u2018a great man\u2019 that Chunggun An sings right before his death, are all fascinating performances worthy enough to compete in Broadway.<\/p>\n
