AsianInNY is honored to partner with Manhattan Portage<\/strong>, an internationally known brand with quality bags made in Taiwan, and Onassis Clothing<\/strong>, a global lifestyle menswear brand with impeccable Japanese aesthetics, to showcase their designs on a runway fashion show. There will also be a fashion show featuring pieces from the CODY SAI<\/strong> Collection, a featured designer on NHK World TV (BBC of Japan) as one of the next emerging Asian designers coming out of New York City. Of course, not to be missed are the Asian models that will be walking the runway.\u00a0 In addition, Kallisti Jewelry<\/strong> and Jade Chiu Design<\/strong> will be providing their latest collections to style the models.<\/p>\n

Stand-up comedian Air Tabigue<\/strong> will be the MC for the night\u2019s festivities. Tabigue has appeared on NBC, FOX and has hosted of Asian America on PBS covering talented Asian-American artists in entertainment. He will have the audience laughing all throughout the night with his witty commentary and fun persona. To set the party mood is DJ J4<\/strong>. With 4 rap albums released in Taiwan, J4 has made a name for himself by playing an ever-growing role in the field of Taiwan Hip Hop. J4 has provided pulsating beats in numerous popular clubs throughout Taiwan and he will no doubt enlighten guests with his music.<\/p>\n

Guests can expect a spectacular performance by pianist Vivian Fang Liu<\/strong>, who has performed in many venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall and Hilton Grand Theatre, just to name a few. Vocalist Baiyu<\/strong> who\u00a0has been featured in Celebuzz, MTVIggy and SoulTrain.com will perform her 2011 single \u201cTogether\u201d, which just premiered on MTV Networks via their marquee programming.<\/p>\n

Also in the line-up of events is a dance performance by J Chen Project<\/strong>, a New York-based dance company founded in 2008 under the direction of Jessica Chen. Chen recently choreographed a production representing the USA Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo and her show \u201cTo Identify\u201d will have an upcoming limited-engagement at Dixon Place. Additionally, guests can look forward to a live performance by Coda Resistance<\/strong>, a band blending the best parts of Indie-Punk & Modern Rock with socially conscious lyrics.<\/p>\n

YiLin Hsu<\/strong>\u2019soriginal artwork will be on display in the studio. YiLin\u2019s life as a former model took her from Hong Kong and Singapore, and then to New York City. Now, using her fashion background, YiLin creates art that consists of all elements of creative and playful, while being unique.<\/p>\n

About Air Tabigue<\/a><\/strong>: A Filipino-American comedian who was born and raised in Long Island, NY. In 2004, Air won the Eastern Division of the First Asian American Stand Up Comedy Competition held by Takeout Comedy. He has appeared on NBC, FOX and has hosted of Asian America on PBS covering talented Asian-American artists in entertainment. He has co-hosted and produced popular monthly shows at the Laugh Lounge including Jammin Asian and CombinAsian. In addition, Air has MC\u2019d numerous events in the Filipino and Asian communities, including the 2011 Philippine Independence Parade in NYC, the Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival, the Lunar New Year Celebration and many others. About Vivian Fang Liu<\/a><\/strong>: She holds a Masters Degree in Classical Piano Performance at New York University.\u00a0 She has also won several prizes at piano and voice competitions in New York since 2002, including Second Prize of New York Empire Piano Competition in 2003; First Prize Piano Competition of New York Music Teacher\u2019s Association in 2002; First Prize of New York WAMU Bank New Year Singing Competition. Vivian has performed in many concerts within the Tri-State area; venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Hammerstein Hall, Steinway Hall, Super Star Theatre, and Hilton Grand Theatre, just to name a few. About YiLin Hsu<\/strong>: Born in Taipei, Taiwan, YiLin was discovered by a teen magazine for a photo shoot and was quickly signed by a local modeling agency. During this period she designed many of her own clothes, jewelry, and bags as an outlet for her creativity. Within a few years her modeling career took her to Hong Kong and then New York City. Both places inspired her visual and fashion sense while the people she surrounded herself with informed her creative nature and helped her evolve her artistic sensibility.
