The holiday-themed comedy marks the third entry in the popular \u201cHarold & Kumar\u201d film series (following \u201cHarold & Kumar Go to White Castle<\/a>\u201d and \u201cHarold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay,\u201d respectively) and is the first to be shot in 3D. The Kingsgate Films Production is a New Line Cinema presentation, in association with Mandate Pictures and opens November 4, 2011 in 3D and 2D in select theatres. About \u201cA Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cA Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas\u201d picks up six years after the duo\u2019s last adventure. After years of growing apart, Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn) have replaced each other with new best friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar\u2019s door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold\u2019s house ends with the \u201chigh grade\u201d contents \u2013and Harold\u2019s father-in-law\u2019s prize Christmas tree\u2014 going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven \u2013 and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high.<\/p>\n

John Cho, who reprises his role as Harold, the more uptight half of this odd couple, notes, \u201cMaking a Harold & Kumar movie is always fun and it\u2019s always outrageous. Even though the films draw a line further out than most, they also have a surprisingly earnest and innocent attitude towards everything, which makes them weirdly lovable. About John Cho<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

John Cho<\/a> (Harold Lee) reprises his role from the cult comedies \u201cHarold & Kumar Go to White Castle\u201d and \u201cHarold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.\u201d Upcoming, he stars opposite Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale in the sci-fi thriller \u201cTotal Recall\u201d and returns for \u201cAmerican Reunion,\u201d the fourth installment of the original \u201cAmerican Pie\u201d series. His previous film credits include J.J. Abrams’s \u201cStar Trek\u201d; the Weitz Bros\u2019 \u201cAmerican Dreamz,\u201c starring alongside Willem Dafoe and Hugh Grant; \u201cBetter Luck Tomorrow\u201d; the American Pie series; \u201cPavilion of Women\u201d; Steven Soderbergh\u2019s \u201cSolaris\u201d;\u00a0and the Best Picture Oscar\u00ae<\/sup> winner \u201cAmerican Beauty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cho was a series regular on ABC’s drama series\u00a0\u201cFlash Forward\u201d\u00a0and the Weitz Bros\u2019 \u201cOff Centre,\u201d and had a recurring role on the last season of \u201cKitchen Confidential,\u201d\u00a0as well as numerous guest roles on television.\u00a0 Born in Seoul, Korea, and raised in Los Angeles, California, Cho began acting while studying English literature at the University of California, Berkeley.\u00a0His first theatre role in \u201cThe Woman Warrior,\u201d an adaptation of the renowned memoir by Maxine Kingston, took him touring across country.\u00a0 Other stage roles include Laertes in the Singapore Repertory Theater\u2019s production of \u201cHamlet\u201d and a variety of shows for East West Players.<\/p>\n

About Kal Penn<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Kal Penn<\/a> (Kumar Patel) returns to the role\u00a0he made popular in \u201cHarold & Kumar Go to White<\/p>\n

Castle\u201d and its follow-up \u201cHarold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.\u201d He will next be seen opposite Martin Sheen in the drama \u201cBhopal: A Prayer for Rain.\u201d His other feature credits include \u201cEpic Movie,\u201d \u201cVan Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj,\u201d \u201cThe Namesake,\u201d \u201cA Lot Like Love\u201d and \u201cSuperman Returns.\u201d\u00a0 Known for his role as young Dr. Lawrence Kutner on the critically acclaimed television series \u201cHouse,\u201d Penn also had a recurring role on season six of \u201c24\u201d and guest starred on the hit series \u201cLaw & Order: SVU.\u201d<\/p>\n

Born and raised in New Jersey, Penn graduated from the Freehold Regional High School District\u2019s Performing Arts High School, attended the Governor’s School for the Arts, and received a degree from the prestigious School of Theater, Film and Television at UCLA.\u00a0 Penn was asked to work on Arts and Youth issues in President Barack Obama\u2019s administration, has served as an\u00a0Adjunct Professor of Cinema, Sociology and Asian American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in International Security at Stanford University.<\/p>\n
