The inaugural Asian Arts & Ideas Forum<\/a>, The Chindia Dialogues brings together established and emerging writers, thinkers and performing artists from China and India to engage in a vital cultural dialogue. Intellectual ties between China and India have stretched over most of the first millennium and beyond and are particularly relevant in understanding the history of a third of the world\u2019s population and its contemporary political and social concerns. Through one-on-one conversations, panel discussions and music performances, The Chindia Dialogues explore the role that literature and the arts have played \u2014 and continue to play \u2014 in the shared values and interests that link two of Asia\u2019s most influential nations, but also to America and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

Featuring writers Amit Chaudhuri<\/a>, Siddhartha Deb<\/a>, Amitav Ghosh<\/a>, Yu Hua<\/a>, Ha Jin<\/a>, Meena Kandasamy<\/a>, Suketu Mehta<\/a>, Jonathan Spence<\/a>, Su Tong<\/a>, Xu Xiaobin<\/a>, Murong Xuecun<\/a>, and others.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Featuring musicians Zhang Le<\/a>, Dave Liang\u2019s The Shanghai Restoration Project<\/a>, Gingger Shankar<\/a>, The Amit Chaudhuri Band<\/a>, Qian Yi<\/a>, Du Yun<\/a>, and others.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Chindia Dialogues (November 3 – 6) take place in conjunction with the Asia Society Museum<\/a> exhibition Rabindranath Tagore: The Last Harvest<\/a> celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Asia\u2019s first Nobel laureate in literature \u2014 his extraordinary achievement as a writer, composer and visual artist, and his visionary commitment to Asian cultural dialogue and global citizenship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
