Large not for profit organization searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Junior Accountant in White Plains, NY.
\nGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:The Junior Accountant is responsible for accounting and billing tasks needed for the Accounts Receivable\/Finance Department.
\nJOB DUTIES\/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
\nReconcile cash receipts for Medicaid and self-pay between the bank deposits, the general ledger and the electronic billing system.
\nAssist in reconciling Medicaid and self-pay from the accounts receivable system to the general ledger.
\nResponsible for billing of various accounts.
\nGenerate self-pay bills to clients.
\nAssist A\/R supervisor in special projects.
\nOther duties as assigned.
\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, Abilities AND ATTRIBUTES
\nProficient in spreadsheets.
\nAbility to learn and work with multiple computer systems (billing and general ledger).
\nKnowledge of Accounts Receivable.
\nAbility to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
\nComputer literacy.
\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to relate well with supervisors, program officials, employees and others.
\nAbility to sit for long periods of time.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\/EDUCATION:
\nAssociates Degree
\nMinimum five years bookkeeping or accounting experience<\/p>\n
