Harpist Tomoko Sugawara performs on a modern rendition that honors the essence of this ancient instrument that was popular along the Silk Road and revered for centuries in Near and Far Eastern religions. Sugawara\u2019s music is deeply emotional and expressive, interweaving compositions from the Tang Dynasty China and 13th century Iran and Spain with modern commissioned works.
