Contact: Jason Chin at (212) 777-5678, extension 226 or JChin@capaonline.org<\/a><\/p>\n In its 30th year, the Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival is a free day-long celebration of Asian Pacific American culture and community which features a live Music & Dance Showcase, children’s activity programs, martial arts demonstrations, traditional craft workshops, a food court and over 100 Asian and Asian Pacific American organizations ranging from government, educational, political, cultural and businesses operating information tables and tents. The event has a history of high media coverage featured in the New York Times, Newsday, the Village Voice, TimeOut magazine, NY1 News, and many ethnic papers.<\/p>\n On May 3rd, 2009, from noon-6pm, 10 performing arts groups from the New York tri-state area will take the stage in front of an audience of over 10,000 at Dag Hammarskj\u00f6ld Plaza. We are currently seeking submissions from artists and companies working in music and\/or dance including folk, traditional, and contemporary expressions. Must be appropriate for a family oriented 20-minute performance on an outdoor stage (15’X20’X24′).
