The Director will report to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the leadership of APFK. The Director will participate with the Board of Directors in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization and will be responsible for implementing the vision.<\/p>\n
The Director\u2019s responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Develop an operational and strategic plan which incorporates the goals and objectives of APFK
\nOversee the efficient and effective daily operation of the organization
\nOversee contracts with the Health Department, Department for the Aging, amongst others
\nRecruit, interview and select staff that have the right educational and personal abilities to help further APFK\u2019s mission.
\nAdditionally, director will oversee development of professional staff
\nResearch funding sources, oversee the development of fund raising plans and write funding proposals to increase the
\nfunds of the organization
\nManage administration of organization\u2019s finances \u2013 work closely with the board, bookkeeper, and accountant
\nEstablish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, partnering
\norganizations, funders, parents, and school personnel
\nOrganize and manage volunteers and interns from partnering organizations (AAYC, NYU, etc.) <\/p>\n
Job Qualifications
\nBachelors degree in Education or Social Sciences
\nMinimum of two years teaching experience (ages 5+), including one year in a supervisory capacity
\nBudget management experience required
\nAbility and willingness to write grant proposals
\nProficiency with computers and standard productivity tools (MS Word, MS Excel required \/ Quickbooks preferred)
\nMinimum of two years administration experience preferred
\nFundraising experience preferred
\nBi-lingual Chinese skills preferred <\/p>\n
