Job Description
\nWe are recruiters that specialize in the placement of Insurance and Reinsurance professionals. Our client is a very solid Property and Casualty Insurer located in New York City. We are currently working together to identify candidates for An Assistant Controllers position.
\nThe Assistant Controller will be responsible for overall management of general ledger and all journal entries. Review trial balance and supporting analyses.<\/p>\n

Other key functions will include:
\n-Investment accounting-reviewing investment related results, reports and reconciliations for Statutory and GAAP financial reporting.
\n-Quarterly and annual statement review, ensuring all cross-checks are completed and explained, coordinating with regulatory department to ensure timely reporting.
\n-Reviewing GAAP to Statutory accounting adjustments for stautory entries.
\n-Reviewing quarterly expense accruals and fluctuation analysis.
\n-Reviewing financial statement footnotes and quarterly results packages.
\nQualified candidates for this position will have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, MBA preferred but not required. 10-15 years relevant experience. CPA designation a +. MUST HAVE INSURANCE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE (company or public)
