<\/a><\/p>\nThe festival facilitates a first-of-its-kind musical cultural exchange between Hong Kong and New York City on the professional level, providing the rare opportunity for Hong Kong\u2019s finest musicians to perform side-by-side with acclaimed MSM Faculty, the MSM Symphony, and Tactus, MSM\u2019s contemporary ensemble.<\/p>\n
Highlights of the program include:
\n\u2022 Multimedia artist cum composer Samson Young\u2019s award-winning I Am Thinking in a Room, Different from the One You Are Hearing in Now, a one-of-a-kind sound performance at Lincoln Center in which the artist\u2019s brainwaves and concentration combine to produce a distinct auditory performance.
\n\u2022 Cutting Edge in Hong Kong features Tactus performing works from some of Hong Kong\u2019s most exciting composers of different generations.
\n\u2022 Five of the most influential Chinese-American composers living in the West are highlighted during Chinoiserie Moderne: Beyond Exoticism at Carnegie Hall. Renowned soprano Ms. Barbara Fei will make a special appearance.
\n\u2022 Hong Kong composer Johnny M. Poon hand-picked Hong Kong\u2019s finest classical musicians to perform side-by-side with MSM\u2019s musicians, performing a blend of original compositions by Hong Kong composers, traditional Chinese pieces, and unique interpretations of Western compositions such as \u201cSomewhere Over the Rainbow\u201d and the HK favorite \u201cThe Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto.\u201d<\/p>\n
