Job Description
\nPosition Objective:
\nIndividual Product Distribution is the wholesaling arm for this well known, downtown NYC insurance company and its subsidiaries. The Mutual Fund Marketing Manager will be responsible for the strategic development, creative execution and implementation of marketing communications for the RS Mutual Fund product line-up that is sold into the Firm\u2019s 3 distribution channels: Proprietary (Agency), Wirehouse and Independent Planner Channel. He\/She will work in collaboration with the RS Marketing and Product Development teams on the West coast and NYC to ensure that both RS and Distribution sales objectives are met through the development of core marketing collateral as well as customized firm marketing initiatives. Examples of projects include: creation of product material customized firm campaigns, quarterly theme campaigns, direct mail marketing, website initiatives and sales ideas.<\/p>\n

Major Opportunities and Decisions: The Mutual Fund Marketing Manager is responsible for communicating complex investment features to the field in an understandable and user friendly way, as well as explains these complex features to clients who may not be sophisticated investors. He\/She must have a solid understanding of the products and the various audiences involved, be able to target communications appropriately. Ability to interact and influence-manage many different departments within the company, specifically RS Investments.<\/p>\n

Principal Accountabilities:
\nManage creative development, production, and distribution of product and broker literature.
\nDrive a solution set across development teams (primarily product development, and sales, legal and compliance) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
\nDeveloping and implementing marketing collateral to support business strategies, programs, products and services for our focus firms.
\nResponsible for monitoring expenses.
\nResponsible for messaging and Brand oversight on marketing collateral.
\nDrives continual process improvement in the management of communications and processes.
\nThe above description includes most significant duties performed. However, other occasional work assignments not mentioned are assumed to be included. Management reserves the right to assign and\/or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time. <\/p>\n

Education and Experience:
\nEducation: Bachelor’s Degree
\nExperience: Minimum of 5 years of solid Mutual Fund Marketing with strong understanding of distribution channels (Agency, Wirehouse and Independent Planner Channels).
\nSeries 6 or 7 <\/p>\n

Skills and Knowledge:
\n\u00a7 Minimum of 5 years developing integrated high level mutual fund marketing strategies across multiple financial services channels
\n\u00a7 Strong editorial, writing and project management skills (writing samples required).
\n\u00a7 Solid knowledge of mutual fund products, industry practices, and SEC and FINRA requirements.
\n\u00a7 Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
\n\u00a7 Proven ability to lead the development and production of marketing communications to meet multiple communication, audience and marketing objectives.
\n\u00a7 Strong computer literacy \u2013 Microsoft Office, Adobe, (Pagemaker & Qwark preferred not required).
\n\u00a7 Knowledge of database management and direct mail marketing
\n\u00a7 Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
