AsianInNY  guests will ring in the Year of the Snake while enjoying an exciting  line-up of comedy, music, fashion, dance, and food.<\/p>\n<p>MC for the event will be Phil Nee,  considered the Godfather of Asian American comedians. A native New  Yorker, Nee appeared recently on \u201cThe Colbert Report,\u201d headlined the  Hong Kong Comedy Festival, and just completed filming a role in the  upcoming movie \u201cChinese Puzzle.&#8221; \u00a0Simon \u2018Taiga\u2019 Tai will  be the DJ for the evening. When Taiga is not raising the roof at the  hottest clubs in NYC, including Avenue, Marquee and Pacha, he can be  found spinning events for the likes of LVMH, Dior and Tag Heuer, and for  Vogue supermodels.<\/p>\n<p>The  evening&#8217;s runway fashion show will feature new collections by  outstanding Asian designers. \u00a0This year the spotlight will fall on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.247features.com\">247Features.com<\/a>,  online shopping destination for designer clothing and merchandises,  will re-introduce famous Asian American designers from previous fashion  shows, including Way Zen, Janet Zheng, Ninh Nguyen, Angela Gao, Gilbert Chen and Jasper Huang, the pioneer of Oriental embroidery pattern designer from Taiwan.\u00a0 Kallisti by Xing Xu, Jade Chiu by Jade Chiu, Ev\u00e9lyn Claude and Sat Chit Jewelry by Wen Wen Lin  will provide jewelry and accessories. \u00a0Attendees can purchase all the  featured items from the fashion shows with discounted rates on  247Features.com after the event. Additionally, a portion of the profits  will be donated to charity.<\/p>\n<p>Asian models will be sporting TC Charton Eyewear by designer Alexandra Peng Charton, the first North American line created expressly for Asians. Hair and makeup will be done by Charles Lam&#8217;s  hair salon and the beauty spa MessLook. A top international stylist for  more than 20 years, Lam&#8217;s clients include artists, singers, models and  performers from Hong Kong and Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The evening&#8217;s featured performers will include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 KI-YO -Singer<br \/>\nSinger  Ki-Yo, known as Kiyotaka in Japan, was just 17 when he released his  first single, \u201cNo No No.\u201d It was immediately put into heavy rotation on  17 major radio stations in Japan \u2013 a record for a new artist. His third  single, \u201cThe Only One,&#8221; sold over 400,000 copies, and his debut album,  \u201cI\u2019ll Be There,&#8221; reached number seven on the Japan pop chart its first  week. That same year, Ki-yo received the All Japan Request Award and the  JFN Listener&#8217;s Award.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Shoko Tamai \u2013 Dancer<br \/>\nBallerina  Shoko Tamai has been dancing for 20 years. A graduate of the Central  School of Ballet in London, she has toured with the UK Ballet Central  and has danced with Graham and Cunningham, as well as the Dance Theater  of Harlem. Tamai studied with Patricia Linton, Yoko Ichino, Aurora  Bosch, Carole Gable, William Glassman, Sara Matthews, Elia Luyando  Lopez, and Nathalia Barbara. She performs technique (contemporary),  character dance, jazz, and musical.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 United East Athletics Association \u2013 Lion Dance<br \/>\nUnited  East Athletics Association was founded in 1976 as a 501c3 non-profit  organization, self-funded organization by a handful of sports  enthusiasts to provide young immigrants and Chinatown youth with a  sports programs to help them develop physically and mentally, and to  integrate into mainstream America.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Takala Land \u2013 Dance Company<br \/>\nTakala  Land Dance Company is dedicated to spreading the joy of street dancing  and the culture of the world it springs from. The company offers classes  in popping and Bboying, hip-hop and jazz for girls, and hip-hop, funk  and groove for boys. Takala Land has performed with Gary Chaw, Jane  Zhang, Julie Su, Hacken Lee and Yumiko Cheng.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u2018Nuf Said \u2013 Live Band<br \/>\n\u2018Nuf  Said is a performing\/touring band based in NYC. Led by  guitarist\/composer Teriver Cheung and vocalist Ioana Vintu, the original  soul\/funk\/R&amp;B band has appeared internationally in concerts and  festivals.
