Award winning composer and storyteller, Angel Lam, tells a new story with her original music and visual projections. Through recent visits to China she discovered a forgotten diary that chronicles an adventurous journey and a culture now lost to time.<\/p>\n

In a merciless land, a young man saves the fate of a girl who died three days before\u2026Based on a true story, an untold secret from 1920\u2019s China comes alive through a new presentation in the Chinese tea house style of storytelling.<\/p>\n

The performance also includes visual artist Catherine Lan\u2019s relief paintings inspired by “Ghost Wife” \u2019s late Qing architectural ornaments of the elegant Sai Kwan mansion in Old Guangzhou.<\/p>\n

Angel Lam\u2019s compositions are praised as \u201cotherworldly, dreamily poetic\u201d (New York Times) and \u201cprecious…soaring lyrical lines\u201d (Metropolitan Opera News). She is a three-time Carnegie Hall commission recipient and her works are performed by Yo-Yo Ma and his Silk Road Ensemble worldwide. She was voted \u201cArtist of the Month\u201d by Musical America and \u201cYalie of the Week\u201d by Yale Alumni Magazine.<\/p>\n
