But, the Grove Alley Nite Market on June 28th is your chance to explore this hidden gem in Downtown Brooklyn. The free Nite Market will begin at 5pm and feature a dozen vendors and food trucks selling everything from jewelry and vintage fashion to hibachi food and booze-infused desserts. And, it wouldn\u2019t be a Brooklyn event without Brooklyn Brewery on tap.<\/p>\n
Food, beer, and shopping aren\u2019t the only attractions you can look forward to. The music will kick off around 7pm, and the line-up of bands has something for everyone \u2013 from Trouble City All-Stars\u2019 reggae beats to The Toothaches\u2019 dance-punk vibe to Heems, a home-grown rapper (formerly of alternative hip-hop group Das Racist) whose first mixed tape was rated 8 out of 10 by Spin. In between sets, DJ Joro Boro will keep you dancing.<\/p>\n
The venue is the perfect backdrop for the musicians and market vendors\u2013 a gritty, undiscovered alley sandwiched between Fulton and Livingston Streets. Grove Alley was once labeled by Forgotten New York as “a candidate for the worst street in Brooklyn.\u201d Since then, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership has coordinated with local property and business owners to transform this dead-end street into one of the most unique locations in Brooklyn. We think you\u2019re going to be hearing more great news about Grove Alley in the weeks and months to come.<\/p>\n
