<\/a><\/p>\nTuition<\/strong>: $250 for a 10-session class<\/p>\n Registration Deadline<\/strong>: Wednesday, July 3<\/p>\n Summer Intensive Course for Teens (Grade 7 \u2013 12)<\/p>\n The Japan Foundation, New York, in cooperation with The Nippon Club, is offering a summer intensive course to young people who are interested in Japanese culture \u2013 anime, manga, j-pop, fashion, etc. \u2013 and in learning the language to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and\/or improve their existing skills.<\/p>\n Students in grades 7 through 12 as of Fall 2013 are eligible. Four classes are available based on level of proficiency. The main textbook is Marugoto: Japanese language and culture, developed by The Japan Foundation.<\/p>\n Early registration is highly recommended as classes fill up quickly or may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.<\/p>\n A1-1 Introductory Japanese: A1-2 Introductory Japanese: A2-1 Elementary Japanese: A2-2 Elementary Japanese:

\nFor those who have completed A1 Introductory Japanese courses or equivalent and can read and write simple words and sentences using hiragana and katakana.<\/p>\n
\nMonday through Friday, July 22 until August 2 \u2013 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. (10 sessions)
\nFor those who have completed A2-1 Elementary Japanese or equivalent, and can read and write simple words and sentences using hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji.<\/p>\n
