Not to mention are those delicious Taiwan night market snacks and drinks.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, many local Taiwanese communities held the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.asianinny.com\/events-in-nyc\/hello-taiwan-rocks-a-successful-event-rasied-10k-for-hurricane-sandy\/\" target=\"_blank\">3rd Hello Taiwan!<\/a> concert and raised $10,000 to donate to to the <a href=\"http:\/\/breezypointdisasterrelief.org\" target=\"_blank\">Breezy Point <\/a>firemen whose houses were burned down as our support to the Hurricane Sandy Relief effort.<\/p>\n<p>New York City has long been one of the leading centers of indie music movement. Within it, Taiwanese musicians are also in the scene making music and hoping one day in reaching to the top. The concert provided a platform for the bands to perform while the fans got to listen to many amazing Taiwanese bands perform for a night of rock-and-roll, a cultural night to be remembered together before the Thanksgiving festivities.<\/p>\n<p>This year, we have added more performing groups as well as some Taiwan\u2019s most iconic snacks while enjoy the performance at the same time!<\/p>\n<p>Featuring:<br \/>\n<strong>Feiwu \/ \u5ee2\u7269\u6a02\u968a<br \/>\nBikini Carwash<br \/>\nTorpid May<br \/>\nThe Underground Channel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Live bands:<br \/>\n&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsiung.net\/feiwu\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Feiwu (\u5ee2\u7269\u6a02\u968a)<\/strong><\/a> is the hard-rocking band who wrote and performed the classic &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9T45DVdiW4o\" target=\"_blank\">\u6211\u611b\u53f0\u7063\u5564\u9152<\/a>&#8221; (&#8220;I Love Taiwan Beer&#8221;) and other original songs at Spring Scream and various venues around the island from 1997 to 2001. Feiwu is well known as one of the core bands that pioneered the Taiwan independent music scene of the &#8217;90&#8217;s along with Mayday (\u4e94\u6708\u5929), Cthonic (\u9583\u9748), 1976, The Chairman (\u8463\u4e8b\u9577), and Quarterback (\u56db\u5206\u885b).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bikinicarwashrocks\" target=\"_blank\">Bikini Carwash<\/a><\/strong> is a four-member rock\/punk\/pop band from Brooklyn, New York. An old-fashioned rock \u2018n\u2019 rock band at heart, New York City\u2019s Bikini Carwash just wants you to have a good time. They specialize in joyful bursts of jewel-toned, punky pop goodness that make audiences smile and shake their booties. As life is hard enough\u2014if you\u2019re going to make and perform music, why not have the most fun possible?<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/torpidmay.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Torpid May<\/strong><\/a> produces progressive ambient collages that  are delicate and coarse,  somber and affecting, dreamy and stern. Packed  with suspense and  twists, they create a brand of melodic rock that  unravels tired  assumptions for unexpected sonic musings. The band is  coming off an  active year appearing at the 2013 MEANY Festival, Keep  Taiwan Free  concert at Time Square, and Passport to Taiwan at Union Square  Park.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheUndergroundChannel\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Underground Channel<\/strong><\/a> is a Brooklyn based band whose unique take on classic rock and modern renditions  of good old foot stomping, adrenaline pumping riffs is both refreshing  and exciting. Owing to the variety in their individual tastes and  backgrounds the band&#8217;s music has distinct elements of punk, grunge, and  progressive rock. His childhood journey through NY allowed him to sample the best that hiphop culture had to offer; picking up rhythm from the Organize Chaos Step Team of Brooklyn Tech HS and Terps Dance Company at SUNY Oneonta, to spittin poetry at a national level with the Intangible Collective in NYC. He was hand picked by Talib Kweli to be featured on his 2010 Blacksmith Community Mixtape, has performed at the Roots Picnic 2013 warming up the crowd for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Naughty By Nature, he also recently opened up for Clara C and Aijia.
