Asian American Alliance is a student organization that strives to promote understanding, foster dialogue and create a sense of awareness within the APA community at Columbia University. Here on this site you can find information about all of our events, campaigns and initiatives. We invite you to meet our board, watch the videos and learn more about our organization!<\/p>\n

The ASIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION’s purpose is to promote awareness of the Asian culture, while keeping in mind the affects of American culture. The nature of ASA is a friendly, social environment for all students. We aim to allow students a place to meet other colleagues through various activities held in or near school. Academic excellence is a supported goal for members of ASA.<\/p>\n

ASIAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE is a club where an eclectic number of Asian cultures – Japanese, Chinese, Indian, and many more – come together to show their pride in their race and ethnicity. Within this club, we hope to culturally converge to help those who are in the Asian minority – in this society – in hopes to gain a brighter future. We hope to make more people aware of their own culture and those cultures around to expand their knowledge.<\/p>\n

Polytechnic University’s South Asian Student Association (SASA). SASA embraces the culture of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and other neighboring countries. We celebrate the South Asian Culture through music, holiday festivities, and literature. It was established to expose South Asian and South Asian American culture to the Polytechnic community.<\/p>\n

Hofstra University<\/strong> (www.hofstrasasa.blogspot.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n

SASA, the South Asian Students Association at Hofstra is a unique organization that strives to achieve unity among students of South Asian descent. We embrace the cultures of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, The Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. We welcome students who would like to share in the appreciation of the wonderful culture that stems from this region of the world. SASA aims to educate the community about issues of culture, heritage, as well as political issues that impact and affect both Americans and those of South Asian descent. We hope to achieve a greater sense of awareness of our culture, religions and our stands on fundamental issues.<\/p>\n

The New School<\/strong> – Imagining Global Asia

This organization is dedicated to connecting with people through the medium of media\u2014to foster a dialogue and understanding through discussions, conferences, lecture series, film series, design, photo and art exhibitions, etc. in person as well as through an online web-portal to bring together scholarly research and expertise along with personal experiences to enhance cultural and global understanding.<\/p>\n

IONA College<\/strong> – Asian Students Association

The Asian student Association is a new organization to IONA College. It started in Fall of 2007 and is dedicated to spreading knowledge about Asian Culture through the Iona Community. The mission of the Asian Student Association is to increase awareness and educate the Iona community about Asian cultures. We try to create an anchor point for Asian students at Iona College, especially for incoming students to integrate into the new environment with support and ease. ASA is devoted to preserve and promote the various Asian cultures. We plan to increase awareness of our diverse language, culture, and history through hosting social events, educational events, cultural events, and community service.<\/p>\n

Manhattan School of Music<\/strong> – Korean Students\u2019 Association

The Korean Students\u2019 Association exists to support Korean students studying at Manhattan School of Music and to host activities and events which celebrate Korean culture and tradition. All students interested in sharing or learning more about the Korean culture and tradition are welcome.<\/p>\n

Molloy College<\/strong> – Asian Students Union

The purpose of ASU is to welcome Asian as well as non-Asian students to participate in various educational, cultural and social events while achieving a better understanding of Asian heritage.<\/p>\n

United Chinese Student Association: UCSA’s mission is to form a more solid foundation for a better communicative, liberal oriented society among students, to encourage student participation in social and academic life, to promote friendship, understanding and to stimulate leadership. Membership to UCSA is FREE. Some of the events we’re having this fall semester are Karaoke Night, Sports Night and Moon Cake Day. Join us and rest of the Pace community to enjoy these exciting activities.<\/p>\n
