JOB DESCRIPTION: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Responsible for the coordinated integration and maintenance of broadcasting facilities and IT technologies for the support and advancement of Emmis NY Radio business systems as well as terrestrial and digital media distribution systems. Reports to the Chief Engineer.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

JOB REQUIREMENTS:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Manage day to day operations of all radio broadcasting studio systems and IT facilities<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Support On-Air radio systems and related technologies i.e. Internet Streaming, Video, Text Messaging, Other<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work with station and corporate management as well as local technology team to develop innovative and strategic plans in the broadcast and digital distribution environments as well as information technology integration<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Experience managing Windows 2003 Server, MS-SQL and Exchange 2003 in a complex LAN and WAN computing environment<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain Brightstor data backup, recovery systems and processes<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Enforce corporate computing policy and procedure for both Emmis NY Radio end users and external vendors to be Sarbanes-Oxley 404 IT Compliant<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trouble-shoot and repair end-user computer hardware and software, including network servers, network operating systems, PC\u2019s and PC applications, LAN cabling, system security and virus protection<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintenance of e-mail post offices.<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Advanced TCPIP and Internet networking knowledge required<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Technical project management<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Microsoft server based network security, network rights, enforcement of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 naming standards, maintenance of login scripts and network software upgrades<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain a positive work environment through active team participation and a good attitude focused on quality customer service<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain knowledge and stay current on technological advances including computer software and hardware with a focus on Microsoft\u00a0Windows server, Media and Entertainment Technologies, Radio Broadcasting and workstation products<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Working knowledge of RF transmission facilities preferred<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Working knowledge or willing to learn radio regulatory rules, regulations and compliance requirements<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain computer system documentation for applications installed and devices operating within the Emmis NY Radio production LAN.<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Available to work various hours and days including some weekends and holidays. On-call status 24\/7 in case of equipment failure<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work with market managers to lead the radio station operations and strategy planning<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Candidates with supervisory experience are preferred.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain preventive maintenance program for computer systems and sustain operational best practices<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain a clean and organized work area<\/p>\n

\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Good verbal and written communications skills<\/p>\n

Education and\/or Experience: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Bachelor\u2019s degree in computers or related technology preferred. Minimum<\/p>\n

\n

3 years experience in IT systems administration related to included technologies.
\nLanguage Skills<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\n

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets technical procedures, equipment operating instructions, and FCC regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.<\/p>\n

\n

\n

Mathematical Skills<\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\n

Able to apply mathematical skill when using oscilloscopes, voltmeters, distortion analyzer, and other provided instrumentation. Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as binary, hexadecimal, fractions, percentages, ratios, and logarithms to practical situations.<\/p>\n

Reasoning Ability<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.<\/p>\n

Excellent mix of computer knowledge both digital and analog electronics. Knowledge of FM transmitters and receivers, antennas and other broadcast equipment a plus. Ability to multi-task and work long hours. Ability to respond in a timely \u201con-call\u201d capacity.<\/p>\n

Certificates, Licenses, other Requirements<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Relative Microsoft software and Networking certifications preferred.<\/p>\n

\n

Web technology certification a plus.<\/p>\n
