\nBe delighted by fourteen of \u201cthe most technically accomplished and musical dancers you\u2019ll find in the contemporary sphere\u201d (The Washington Post) as they take the Joyce stage. Featured in Programs A and B is El Beso, a stunning world premiere by Spanish native Gustavo Ram\u00edrez Sansano with original costumes by Venezuelan fashion designer Angel Sanchez. Other highlights include three Joyce premieres: Sombrer\u00edsimo, Belgo-Colombian Annabelle Lopez Ochoa\u2019s athletic tour de force for six male dancers; Umbral, Edgar Zendejas\u2019s seductive interpretation of the beloved Mexican celebration \u201cD\u00eda de los Muertos\u201d (Day of the Dead); and Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro\u2019s Hogar, a moving meditation on immigrant identity and the meaning of home set to live music by masterful Russian composer Ljova (Program B only). Nacho Duato\u2019s masterwork Jardi Tancat, the Joyce premiere of Edwaard Liang\u2019s lush duet A Verme, and repertory favorites from Vilaro and Lopez Ochoa round out the colorful season.<\/p>\n
Mia Min-Tzu Li, a native of Taiwan, enjoyed her education at The Boston Conservatory and gained many diverse experiences working with their faculty and students. Ms. Li has been fortunate to perform works by such masters as Jos\u00e9 Lim\u00f3n, Martha Graham and Murray Louis, as well as creating her own works.<\/p>\n
