On March 18th 2014, civic groups and student demonstrators stormed Taiwan’s parliament floor to protest the government’s ratifying a controversial trade agreement with China without proper democratic processes. The sit-in, known as the Sunflower Movement, demanded that the government be accountable to the people, and lasted over 20 days.<\/p>\n
The occupation ended, the Movement still continues! After came out from the Legislative Chamber, the students have established different pressure groups and organizations in order to enable a more vibrant civil society and promote Taiwan into a better place. Now, five of them will travel to the United States from Taiwan, they will present a speech in Taiwan Center on 08\/27. Don’t miss out!<\/p>\n
