Dominique is an active jewelry designer, working for major companies in France, then in the US.\u00a0He teaches design at the Fashion Institute of technology of New York.<\/p>\n

Beside his professional career, he has developed a strong interest for the Asia and particularly China.\u00a0After many trips in the main land, and meeting with great artists, he decided to embark on a personal project. From an approach that long remains unconscious, but becoming clear later on. He built the \u201cMelody of China\u201d. The inspiration is the typical musical instruments, played by ladies wearing traditional costumes.
\nThe shape and the sound, so particular of those instruments, ancient and traditional, define the mystery of the Imperial China said Dominique.
\nThe goal was to keep a \u201cChinese\u201d rendering flavor, preserving the charm and the mystic mood, although using a different technic. Here he chooses hard pastel, versus a classic Chinese watercolor.<\/p>\n

The collection includes 12 art works, average dimensions 30\u2019\u2019x20\u2019\u2019 (75cmx50cm). Medium: pastel on various papers. The instruments include:
\nPipa, Liuqin, Erhu, Dizi, Bawu, Yueqin, Ruanqin, Guzheng.<\/p>\n

In October, Confucius institute, SUNY state university of New York will be hosting his first exhibition.<\/p>\n
