We are working with a very good Property and Casualty insurer located in NYC searching for a GAAP Accountant.<br \/>\nThis position plays a major role in preparing the quarterly and annual statutory financial statements as well as day to day maintenance of key financial accounting. This position supports several annual and quarterly routines such as the Magnitude Package delivery, annual audit, account reconciliations and annual statement schedules.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nResponsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-Daily posting\/review of all AP batches.<br \/>\n-AP vendor file review of Peoplesoft.<br \/>\n-Daily review of Positive Pay and submission to BONY and Payment Register file.<br \/>\n-Review bank account reconciliation.<br \/>\n-Intra-company reconciliation.<br \/>\n-Pre-paid Expense Schedule Maintenance.<br \/>\n-Assist with annual audit requests.<br \/>\n-Reconcile monthly\/quarterly balance sheet accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Qualified candidates will have 4-8 years accounting experience in Property and Casualty insurance. Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance. Excellent analytical skills necessary. Experience with major GL system such as Peoplesoft or SAP.
