The person will report to the Director of Business Services and assist with all parts of programming such as, but not only:
\n\u2022\tHelp businesses to become Certified Home Improvement Contractors by taking our training.
\n\u2022\tHelping businesses to submit their MWBE paperwork to the State and City of New York.
\n\u2022\tAssist with all aspects of our workshop series.
\n\u2022\tData entry and reconciliation.
\n\u2022\tHelp with the ongoing digital and paper grant reporting requirements.
\n\u2022\tAttend ongoing workshops and seminars as directed.
\n\u2022\tMust be able and willing to travel throughout Queens and NYC on occasion, willing to follow instructions and carry out tasks to completion.<\/p>\n
Training will be provided for this role to eventually provide business advisory services to our client base. You will become proficient with:
\n\u2022\tBusiness Registration, Permit & License Acquisition, Business Planning, and Loan Packaging.
\n\u2022\tConducting presentations, trainings, and live workshops to promote the QEDC or teach business development.
\n\u2022\tProviding direct assistance to clients looking to start or grow their business.
\n\u2022\tAssessing, documenting, and synthesizing information about participating businesses to inform the provision of appropriate services and classroom education.
\n\u2022\tManaging relationships with participating businesses to proactively address business needs<\/p>\n
This is a fantastic opportunity for a go-getter that prioritizes completing daily work requirements while learning the ropes and building relationships with various stakeholders within and outside of the QEDC organization.
\nProfessional Dress Required
\nHours: Part-Time (Monday \/ Wednesday \/ Friday; some weekends and\/or evenings) 21+hrs\/week
\nHourly Compensation based on experience and qualifications.<\/p>\n
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
\nThe successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
\n\u2022\tAssociate’s degree required or currently enrolled in an Associate’s program.
\n\u2022\tWork experience or completed internship is desired
\n\u2022\tComfortable with modern technology and basic social media
\n\u2022\tBasic experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
\n\u2022\tWilling to learn and engage in business consulting and event organizing
\n\u2022\tWilling to interact with a diverse set of businesses people around Queens
\n\u2022\tWilling to follow instructions and see all assigned tasks to completion as directed
\n\u2022\tAbility to take initiative and search for tasks between project assignments
\n\u2022\tAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
\n\u2022\tExcellent spoken and written communication skills
\n\u2022\tAbility to write clearly and concisely
\n\u2022\tMust be fluent in English and Mandarin
