When filmmaker Tsering Dhondup was ten he walked with his father across the Himalayas to exile in India. In order to take his son\u2019s mind off the dangers that lurked beneath each step of the formidable Himalayan passes, Tsering\u2019s father told him a story so terrifying and riveting that it still haunts him to this day.<\/p>\n

Mystic Mountain is that story, a psychological thriller that takes place in a village tucked in the Himalayas. Tsewang, a young Tibetan warrior, is searching for his father\u2019s dead body, which has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Through his search, he finds himself entangled with Mikmar, a man who practices black magic and who can direct his consciousness into other bodies.<\/p>\n

This screening is part of the Himalayan Heritage Meet-up, a monthly program exploring the culture, arts, history, and sacred traditions of the Himalayas.<\/p>\n
