Mar Creation, Inc. and CRS a program of the sounds, sights, and tastes of Old Japan with shakuhachi and elegant Japanese sake in a very intimate space. Shakuhachi Grand Master James Nyoraku Schlefer will play honkyoku, traditional Zen solo shakuhachi music, accompanied by images of Kyoto\u2019s gardens and temples. It\u2019s a truly multi-media experience not to be missed!<\/p>\n

Schlefer is a virtuoso performer of traditional and contemporary shakuhachi music, an esteemed teacher in the Kinko school, and a ground-breaking composer. Honored by Musical America International as one of their \u201c30 Top Professionals and Influencers,\u201d he aims to promote and sustain traditional shakuhachi music through performances, lecture\/demonstrations, residencies, and concert programming.
