Deepa in Sanskrit means \u201clight\u201d and \u00c3vali means \u201crow\u201d and so, Deep\u00e3vali means \u201ca row of lights\u201d. These lights are usually festively decorated earthen \/ clay lamps lit with oil and wick. This is one of the few festivals observed by all Hindus, Sikhs and Jains not only throughout India, but all over the world, thereby making this a truly unifying festival.<\/p>\n<p>Several events are planned for this occasion:<\/p>\n<p>1. Art Exhibition<\/p>\n<p>2. Hands-on Diya (clay lamp) painting workshop for children<\/p>\n<p>3. A display of Deep\u00e3vali Festivities<\/p>\n<p>4. Cultural show of regional dances<\/p>\n<p>5.
