\nDeanna Fei was born in Flushing, New York, and has lived in Beijing
\nand Shanghai, China. A graduate of Amherst College and the Iowa
\nWriters’ Workshop, she has received a Fulbright Grant, a New York
\nFoundation for the Arts fellowship, and a Chinese Cultural
\nScholarship, among other awards. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New
\nYork, where she teaches in public schools and is at work on a new
