Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>EXHIBITIONS ON VIEW<br \/>\nWith a Single Step: Stories in the Making of America<\/p>\n<p>MOCA\u2019s core exhibition, With a Single Step: Stories in the Making of America presents the diverse layers of the Chinese American experience, while examining America\u2019s journey as a nation of immigrants. It interweaves the historical and political context of Chinese immigration to the United States with the personal stories and cultural traces of multiple generations to tie together three main threads:<br \/>\n\u2022\tThe relationship between China and the United States; and its impact on Chinese Americans<br \/>\n\u2022\tHow Chinese Americans have perceived themselves in American society (and been perceived) over time.<br \/>\n\u2022\tThe impact of Chinese Americans on American politics, culture, and life.<br \/>\nAt the end of the exhibition, visitors will be able to interact with a Response Wall that encourage a shared dialogue on \u201cHow do feel about the future of America?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>***<br \/>\nSour, Sweet, Bitter, Spicy: Stories of Chinese Food and Identity in America<\/p>\n<p>What does Chinese food in America, in its dizzying variety, say about who we are\u2014or are not\u2014 today? Set in an immersive video installation featuring 33 Chinese and Asian American chefs, the tapestry of tales that emerges is rich with immigration experiences, food memories, favorite dishes and cooking inspirations that define the culinary\u2014and personal\u2014identities of these chefs.
