LIC’s First 2-Day Site-Specific Dance Festival. Outdoor + Free!<\/p>\n

Taking place at four LIC waterfront parks, INSITU transforms the western Queens riverside into one big stage on July 8th + 9th 2017 from 12-7 PM, offering audiences, residents and dance lovers a fresh and exciting way to experience dance in public spaces.<\/p>\n

The diverse lineup features 24 acclaimed and emerging contemporary and urban dance companies that will twirl around mailboxes, swing through playgrounds, bounce on sidewalks and breakdance in tight spaces.<\/p>\n

The performances are taking place at various sites in Hunters Point South Park, Gantry Plaza State Park, Queensbridge Park and Socrates Sculpture Park.<\/p>\n

Audiences are led through immersive dance performances several times throughout the day, setting up a chain of physical dance interventions. Patrons will be able to walk, bike, kayak, and take advantage of a special LYFT discount to travel from venues. At times, the audiences will become part of the action.
