<\/a>Masterworks Concert is the annual faculty recital by the professionally trained music instructors of the Children\u2019s Orchestra Society. The audience this year will be treated to familiar classics, such as a Mozarthorn quintet, a Beethoven string quartet, a Mendelssohn piano trio, and Albeniz for solo guitar, while songs from the Visaya region of the Philippines will highlight the experience. “Our faculty is devoted to developing young talents, and yet still hunger to express themselves through their art. The COS Masterworks Concert provides an opportunity to showcase our faculty, and bring lively music to the community.”<\/p>\nThe Masterworks Concert begins at 7:30 PM, and tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door; a discount is offered for groups of four and can be purchased at the Children\u2019s Orchestra Society website: http:\/\/www.childrensorch.org\/index.php?pID=32<\/a>.<\/p>\n Families in New York city, Long Island and the tri-state area have been involved with Children\u2019s Orchestra Society (COS) since it was founded in 1962 by Dr. H.T. Ma. Today, COS provides music programs for the youngest learner through advanced students interested in high caliber performance opportunities. Executive Director Yeou-Cheng Ma is a Developmental pediatrician, and Artistic Director Michael Dadap is well-known by guitarists and in the music community for his cultural contributions.
