4th “Hello Taiwan!” Charity Concert for Typhoon Haiyan Relief Effort

On November 16th at 2pm, “Hello Taiwan!” concert organizers including TAANY, Passport to Taiwan, Tai-Ke New York, and AsianInNY.com held a press conference at Taiwan Center (137-44 Northern Blvd, Flushing, NY 11354) to announce the details of the 4th “Hello Taiwan!” Concert. Due to the recent severe damages caused by Typhoon Haiyan, the “Hello Taiwan!” organizers have decided to donate all proceeds to the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Relief Effort. The concert will feature four live bands including Feifu, Torpid May, Bikini Carwash, and The Underground Channel with special guest Filipino American performer IZZY, winner of 2013 Kollaboration New York Talent Competition. Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) celebrated its annual gala last Thursday at Cipriani 42nd Street. The event drew a spirited crowd of over 570 guests and raised over 1.5 million, a Museum record. ORGANIZES A NIGHT OF BAYANIHAN SPIRIT TO RAISE FUNDS TO BENEFIT TYPHOON HAIYAN RELIEF EFFORTS

A press conference at the District Office of New York State Assemblymember Ron Kim announced a major benefit to raise funds for Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts. Organized by FAM (Filipino American Museum), the fundraiser will take place this Thursday, November 21 at the Galapagos Art Space in Dumbo, Brooklyn. With an estimated 11 million Filipinos affected, displaced or left homeless by this catastrophic event, FAM has urgently rallied an impressive group of individuals, businesses, local government officials, and community organizations to create an evening celebration of the Bayanihan Spirit.
