Founded in 1992, APEX, seeks to empower youth to be well-rounded, productive members of society by helping them build their self-confidence, explore academic and career goals, develop a sense of community and service, and gain leadership skills. Through one-on one mentoring relationships, educational programs, and social services APEX helps youth overcome the multiple challenges they face, enabling them to cultivate valuable and meaningful relationships. Together, we hope to inspire our youth to create and achieve their goals.
The Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA) is a 501c(3) non-profit organization staffed solely by volunteers working together to build a sense of community among the tri-state area’s Asian Pacific Americans. General meetings are held once a month where we plan logistics, set policy, and network. The meetings last for about one and half hours and the board members represent a wide range of ages, professions and cultural backgrounds. Every two years, new officers are elected to preserve the tradition of bringing in new ideas and approaches for continuing the success of the Festival. Offices include the President, Vice Presidents, Treasurer and Secretaries and various Committee Chair positions.
The Asian American Federation is a nonprofit leadership organization that works to advance the civic voice and quality of life of Asian Americans in the New York metropolitan area. Established in 1990, the Federation supports and collaborates with 42 member agencies to strengthen community services, promotes strategic philanthropy within the Asian American community, and conducts research and advocacy concerning critical issues.
THE KOREA SOCIETY is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) organization with individual and corporate members that is dedicated solely to the promotion of greater awareness, understanding and cooperation between the people of the United States and Korea. In pursuit of its mission, the Society arranges programs that facilitate discussion, exchanges and research on topics of vital interest to both countries in the areas of public policy, business, education, intercultural relations and the arts. Funding for these programs is derived from contributions, endowments, grants, membership dues and program fees. From its base in New York City, the Society serves audiences across the country through its own outreach efforts and by forging strategic alliances with counterpart organizations in other cities throughout the United States as well as in Korea.
The Asian American Bar Association of New York is a professional membership organization of attorneys concerned with issues affecting the Asian Pacific American community. Incorporated in 1989, AABANY seeks not only to encourage the professional growth of its members but also to advocate for the Asian Pacific American community as a whole. AABANY is the New York regional affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).
Japanese American Social Services, Inc. (JASSI) is a non-profit organization established in 1981 to address the social services needs of persons of Japanese ancestry in the Greater New York area. Whether one is a newcomer to New York or a long time resident whose first language is Japanese, one is certain to face unforeseen problems arising from language barriers and cultural differences. JASSI’s bilingual staff members and cadre of volunteers stand ready to offer culturally sensitive assistance and support.
