Thanks to our dear AsianInNY friend Joshua Aaron, New York Entrepreneurial Committee member and President of Business Technology Partners, we had a chance to participate a great and meaningful event that provided executive-level and market-based exposure to a highly-selective group of student entrepreneurs from the University of Michigan (U-M) regarding entrepreneurship and to show students how to accelerate the growth and development of their business ideas.
The event was held in New York City from Feb. 28 – Mar. 1, 2011, hosted by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Trump SoHo Hotel. As part of the program the students presented business plans during a pitch day hosted at the New York Stock Exchange where they obtained real world business feedback from prominent business leaders, resulting in an open dialogue about best practices in starting and growing a business. Featured Speakers and Participants during these 2 day event included: Robert Kidder, Chairman of The Chrysler Group; Daymond John, Shark Tank Judge; Peter Shankman, founder of HARO and The Geek Factory; Seth Pinsky, President of the NYCEDC, Carole Post, CIO of New York City, and Jeffrey Pulver, co-founder of Vonage.
We had a chance to speak to a lot of amazing students and got to hear their ideas and business projects they have been working. AsianInNY would like to congratulate to all the students and we do hope to see you return to New York City sometime!
