As General Manager, you will contribute to Misnomer’s success by driving day-to-day administration and working closely with the Artistic Director, Chris Elam, to bring this rapidly growing company to its next stage. In addition, your work will have national impact by influencing the development of Misnomer’s Audience Engagement Platform (AEPlatform.org), a service designed as a field-wide resource for artists and audiences. Misnomer’s work requires dedication, a love of the arts, strong management and strategic thinking skills, and offers the opportunity to work alongside an excellent team that deeply enjoys what they do.
Responsibilities:
including dance company and other programs ;Oversee other core functions, including marketing, financial and development
Manage, develop and provide direct oversight of staff, consultants, interns and volunteers
Drive profile-raising communications and marketing through web, events and other outlets
Contribute to business development, strategic marketing and long-term company building
3-5+ years in leadership / management positions with growth responsibilities or comparable experience, preferably in an arts organization. History of success operationalizing a range of organizations and teams
History of success managing high-profile, multi-year projects and program development
Experience in financial management, preferably including non-profit, payroll and grant reports
Experience developing and maintaining systems and ease with office / web software
Passion for dance, innovation, and effective use of web technology and social media
Playfulness, curiosity, cool composition and a driven, team-oriented leader
