Korean cooking documentary star Marja Vongerichten will demonstrate recipes from her hit “Kimchi Chronicles” show on PBS, as well as new dishes from her recently released cookbook.
Following the demonstration and a discussion about cooking Korean food in the American kitchen, guests will be able to sample each of the dishes prepared.
Join The Korea Society in welcoming Marja Vongerichten, star of the new PBS series Kimchi Chonicles and wife of famed chef Jean-Georges, as she cooks and shares recipes from her newly released cookbook, The Kimchi Chronicles: Korean Cooking for an American Kitchen. The cookbook, available at the event, includes a recipe for every dish featured in the documentary as well as original dishes with a lighter, modern flair, revealing how the flavors of the Korean table can be readily integrated into any meal. Marja will share her thoughts on creating and adapting recipes and how The Kimchi Chronicles series inspired her to craft this beautiful new cookbook, which includes mouth-watering photos alongside her observations of Korean culinary culture.
Following Marja’s kitchen demonstration and author talk, guests at this exciting downtown event will sample her delicious creations and have the opportunity to meet the television host and author at a special signing of the new release. The Korea Society thanks publisher Rodale books for its support of this lovely summer’s evening of cuisine and conversation.
