OCA National Convention 2011 invites your youth leaders our 9th annual Youth Track! These two great days are based on leadership and organizational building, APA identity, and the local New York APA community. All young Asian Pacific American (APA) high school students, locally and across the country, are encouraged to attend this great event.
A $25 returnable deposit is required for individuals. However, if you are coordinating a large group, there is no need for any $25 deposits. Youth Leadership Day, facilitated by local and national APA leaders, is a day dedicated to exploring different aspects of being an Asian Pacific American youth in America. We will discover the stories and issues that impact APA identity and learn advocacy skills that can empower young students.
YOUTH DAY (August 5th) *Sponsored by McDonald’s
Youth Day focuses on a variety of interactive activities based on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. This day will leave students with better knowledge of effective leadership and life styles, a better understanding of issues in their APA community, and new relationships with other youth leaders. Youth Day is lead by young college graduates and recent college graduates who are passionate about their APA community.
