Job Description:
– Supervise case planners who provide child welfare preventive services to high risk families from South Asia, the Middle East/North Africa.
– Perform client intake and psycho-social assessments, develop goal oriented service plans, complete required reports and monthly statistical reports, maintain accurate client case records, review FASPs (Family Assessment and Service Plans), and facilitate FTCs (Family Team Conferences) with ACS and client families.
– Supervise individual and group counseling in the areas of child welfare, domestic violence, entitlements, etc.
– Ensure compliance with the NYC Administration for Children Services (ACS) funding requirements and with agency policies and procedures.
– Assist Director in meeting program requirements.
– Outreach into the community, make presentations about the agency, and develop partnerships with other public/private organizations.
– Establish linkages with other appropriate agencies and make referrals.
– Train caseworkers on ACS guidelines and regulations, entitlements, casework practice, and resources in the community.
– Conduct performance reviews of casework staff.
– Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Masters in Social Work (MSW) — Required Experience in ACS child welfare preventive programs Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience Fluency in English and excellent written and communication skills Experience working with immigrant population
Proficiency in spoken Arabic/Bengali/Hindi/ Urdu/Punjabi a plus but not required. Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed
