System Support Specialist:
Build and maintain PC hardware, software and server systems as well as provide technical assistance and training to system users.
Responsibilities include:
- Replace defective or inadequate software; inspect PC equipment and read build sheets to prepare microcomputers
- Respond to Associate inquiries concerning system operations and diagnosis problems
- Instruct users on the use of their equipment and software
- Coordinate activities with the helpdesk, network services and other system groups
- Maintain hardware and software inventory; produce daily reports
- Install hardware, peripheral components, operating systems and software
- Monitor servers for network performance
- Provide on call support; must be able to work outside normal business hours when necessary
Qualifications include:
- BS Degree in Computer science or related field and at least 2 years experience supporting a Windows PC/Server environment
- Proficiency in supporting Microsoft Office. Lotus Notes, Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 Server required
- Experience supporting multiple users in a corporate environment
- Knowledge of windows server builds, network protocols, backup software, antivirus software
- Knowledge of networking, routers and switches
- Must be detail oriented, a team player and have strong interpersonal skills
