Job Description
As part of the Risk Analytics Group, interfacing with Treasury Ops, Capital Markets & IT, we are seeking a Financial Risk Analyst with experience doing the pricing, stress testing and measuring the sensitivity of the portfolio. This role will participate in maintaining a professional risk control environment that is conducted within risk limits, processes, and standards that are set for regulatory and operational risks of the Bank and as reviewed by the Auditors/Examiners.
Responsibilities include
• Run the interest rate risk measurement model
• Review automated data entry and reconciliation of the inputs with source data
• Help as needed in the testing and validation of models including credit and collateral models
• Participate in departmental projects including statistical analysis of pricing and risk elements of the bank’s portfolio
• Provide management with evaluations of the bank’s risk profile by becoming the key person in the organization to input and run the bank’s interest rate risk measurement model
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree required. MBA or MS degree in Finance or Economics preferred or CFA.
• MBA or Masters in Statistics a plus
• Strong mathematics with a Quantitative focus
• Advanced Excel / VBA Skills
• Strong modeling skills utilizing an existing library
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent analytical Math, Probability and Statistics skills and the ability to provide clear explanations to other departments.
• Knowledge of Derivatives
• Knowledge of Debt instruments: Option embedded securities and swaps as well as Pricing Theory
• Advanced Excel skills: Lookups, pivot tables, linked tables, construct flowcharts, pseudo-code, macros as well as the ability to conceptualize and relate processes to programmers.
• Strong Modeling Skills: inputs and generates a series of complex reports as well as knowledge of the assumptions (will not necessarily develop own assumptions) along with the ability to understand and review inputs and reports for coherence and reasonableness
• High Attention to Detail: Detailed review of inputs and outputs to risk models and reports is necessary
• Experience at a financial institution on the financial or accounting side is a plus
• Familiarity with one of the following: QRM, Principia, Polypaths, Algorithmics, etc.
