Verizon Wireless Celebrates Mid-Autumn Moon Festival by Supporting the Chinese Community
Back to Category Print this page

On Sunday, September 18, 2011, Verizon Wireless will be at the China Day Festival from 12:00PM -6:00PM to help celebrate the Autumn Moon Festival with the Chinese community at Sara Roosevelt Park in New York City.  This is their second year sponsoring the festival with the Better Chinatown Society.  The Verizon Wireless booth will be located at the right side (Forsyth Street) of the park entrance by Houston Street. They will host a donation container for HopeLine®, provide product demonstrations, hand out fun gifts and take entries for a chance to win a Family Dinner at Mulan Restaurant.  “Verizon is excited to be supporting the Chinese community again through the China Day Festival to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, and continue to support Verizon’s HopeLine® program,” said Pat Devlin, Regional President at Verizon Wireless, “In celebration of family, we are also delighted to be offering a chance to win a banquet style family dinner at Mulan Restaurant.”

Verizon Wireless is encouraging festival attendees to stop by the booth and donate their no-longer used wireless phones and accessories from any service provider in any condition to HopeLine®.  Phones donated to Verizon’s HopeLine® program are refurbished or recycled in an environmentally friendly way.  Proceeds from the program benefit victims of abuse and non-profit advocacy agencies by providing essential communication tools such as wireless phones and wireless services as well as financial grants.  Since the launch of Verizon’s HopeLine® 16 years ago, they have distributed more than 106,000 phones with more than 319 million minutes of free wireless service used by victims of abuse.  For more information about Verizon’s HopeLine®, please visit www.verizonwireless.com/hopeline.

In addition to the HopeLine® donation area at the booth, Verizon Wireless is also upholding the spirit of togetherness and family during the Mid-Autumn Moon celebration by offering the community a chance to win a delectable Family Dinner for ten at Mulan Chinese Restaurant, one of the best restaurants in New York City.  Verizon brand ambassadors will be taking entries on Sunday, September 18th at the Verizon booth during the China Day Festival.  There is no purchase necessary to enter.  The winner will be selected on or around September 23, 2011.
