Join us for J CHEN PROJECT’S Second NYC Season! This is a project that has been brewing for over a year and we are excited to reveal what we’ve been working on…It’s been more than a show for me. It’s been a series of mask workshops both in New York and in California. It’s been a collection of collaborations with photographers, video artists, costume designers, musicians and poets. It’s transformed into an exhibition at a… trendy cafe in Soho. Please come share this special evening with us.SHOW DESCRIPTION:::
‘To Identify’ explores the concept of our multifarious, unique and often times confusing identities that exist in this global society. Inspired by real stories, we create dance installations that take dynamic, emotional movement and merge it with visual art, original music and audience participation. This potent mixture allows for the perfect medium to delve into the masks and labels that comprise our identities.Promo Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4X_juTM6m8 Conceived and directed by: Jessica Chen
