Completed after five years of arduous work by the makers of Let It Be (無米樂, 2005), Hand in Hand《牽阮的手》brings you a story of love, faith and pursuit of democracy with both laughter and tears.

Awards winner, 《牽阮的手Hand in Hand, 2011》, one of the best Taiwanese documentaries directed by first prize winners of Taiwan International Documentary Film, reveals the country’s past through the lives of an activist couple. Hand in Hand portrayed a series of political events such as the 228 Incident, the Formosa Incident and the lifting of martial law not as hollow dates in history books but as parts of people’s lives, showing the passion, strength and sacrifice that helped to shape Taiwanese society.
