AsianInNY, New York’s premier online destination for multicultural networking and entertainment, is hosting a grand Lunar New Year Celebration during New York Fashion Week with many outstanding Asian designers to present their new collections with runway fashion shows on Saturday, Feb 11th, 2012 from 7pm to 10pm at the Bennett Media Studio (723 Washington Street, NY).

MEILING CHEN: Meiling is from Taiwan and now NYC-based designer whose designs have been featured on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Japan (Green Issue) and in the pages of Vogue Italia, WWD, Positively Green, Boho Magazine, PIG (Italian) and Sure (Korean) as well as on green design blogs, such as Inhabitat, Treehugger, Hiphonest, Eco Fashion World, and Ecco*Eco. She has participated in numerous runaway shows during New York Fashion Week and gallery exhibitions. NINH NGUYEN: Ninh is a two-time scholar of the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund and has won Best Menswear for the Arts of Fashion Competition. He graduated from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology and debuted his first collection during NYFW in February of 2011. He is the men’s fashion blogger for “Another Men’s Blog” and the designer behind the bow-tie line “Mad Handsome”. Ninh’s design NINH Collection has an eclectic approach: it combines the simplicity, traditional fit of London, the contemporary and fresh style of Japan, and the chic mode of Korea. CHARMAINE HO: Charmaine was born in Hong Kong, and raised in Macau. While studying fashion merchandising at the Parsons School of Design, in New York, she entered a competition for emerging handbag designers and won first place, earning her a spot in Cosmo Girl! Magazine. Charmaine launched her own line Me Char Handbags that uses a range of high-quality Italian leather to feature the very delicate detailing on each bag, and is known for being the affordable luxury. JING HE: Jing is from Beijing and now a New Yorker, she created an original jewelry line called “String Theory“. XING XU: Xing is from Shanghai, lives in New York, and formerly worked as a model, now as a fashion producer and the designer of Kallisti Jewelry, a collection of handmade items including body draping chain jewelry, two-finger rings and other accessories. HARUO NORO: Haruo is from Japan and came to the U.S. to open his own salon after finding success as a stylist in Japan and London.
