Please join the Asian American / Asian Research Institute (AAARI) for a co-sponsored event, Media Access Workshop, by the Asian American Journalists Association of New York (AAJA-NY), on Friday, March 2, 2012, from 6PM to 9PM, at 25 West 43rd Street, 18th Floor, between 5th & 6th Avenues, Manhattan.
Geared towards non-profit organizations, community leaders, concerned citizens, or anyone looking to get their news in the news, the Media Access Workshop will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn the basics of public relations and how to write an effective press release from professional journalists in various fields of broadcast, print, online, and radio. Attendees will also learn how to pitch news stories, how editors select news, and how to do a television interview.
If you do not have any media experience at all or if you are looking to pitch that story and get advice, you are encouraged to attend.
