Large not for profit organization searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Junior Accountant in White Plains, NY.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:The Junior Accountant is responsible for accounting and billing tasks needed for the Accounts Receivable/Finance Department.
JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reconcile cash receipts for Medicaid and self-pay between the bank deposits, the general ledger and the electronic billing system.
Assist in reconciling Medicaid and self-pay from the accounts receivable system to the general ledger.
Responsible for billing of various accounts.
Generate self-pay bills to clients.
Assist A/R supervisor in special projects.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, Abilities AND ATTRIBUTES
Proficient in spreadsheets.
Ability to learn and work with multiple computer systems (billing and general ledger).
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Computer literacy.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to relate well with supervisors, program officials, employees and others.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:
Associates Degree
Minimum five years bookkeeping or accounting experience
