William Demps, Jr., born November 7, 1979 in Charleston, South Carolina, is an American football player for the New York Giants of the NFL and plays the free safety position as number 47.
Demps’ father is African-American and his mother is Korean. He went to Highland High School and San Diego State University.
Prior to football, Demps occasionally works as a model in his spare time. He made an appearance in ex-Destiny’s Child, Letoya Luckett’s first solo video “Torn.”
In 2002, Demps started his NFL career, where was signed by the Baltimore Ravens till 2005. He was later signed by the Giants as an unrestricted free agent on March 15, 2006.
Demps has played in 57 regular season games with 46 starts at free safety and has recorded 284 career tackles, 4 interceptions and 29 passes defensed in his 4 year career.
Off the field, Demps has participated in several Gatorade Jr. Training Camps, which helped teach football fundamentals to boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 14. He visited sick children at the University of Maryland Medicine’s Children’s Hospital and also provided a financial donation to the hospital.
Demps was also the recipient of the Ravens Nest #3 1st annual Baltimore Ravens 110% Effort Award for 2003. The award is given to the player who shows tremendous effort on the field and in the community.
