Some of you might be aware of the recent controversies in Taipei relating to the roles of eminent domain powers in urban renewal. We are fortunate that Justice Fong-Wei Shen (沈方維法官) of Taiwan’s Supreme Court (最高法院) happens to be on a sabbatical leave at NYU Law School. Taking advantage of this rare opportunity, we have invited him to join with two other veteran experts in NYC urban planning, Mr. Jerry Cheng (鄭向元先生) & Mr. Patrick Too (涂平子先生), to share their thoughts on the intertwined legal, social, cultural, policy, & technical issues in eminent domain and modern-day urban planning.
The presentations will be primarily in Chinese, but with some English interactions. The event is free, but registration is required. Please click on the REGISTRATION button above to register. Hope to see you there!
