The 72 Hour Film Shootout is a nationwide competition organized by Asian American FIlm Lab where filmmaking teams have 72 hours to write, shoot, edit and produce short films up to five minutes in length on a common theme. AsianInNY is very excited and honored to be one of the media sponsors.
From the Shootout’s inception in 2004, this annual competition has created opportunities for Asian Americans to demonstrate their talent, gain exposure in the entertainment industry, and to impact the visibility of Asian American stories and characters in film and television. A requirement of the Shootout is that at least one key production member and a lead actor from each team must be of Asian descent.
Here are some dates and details. We are excited to welcome the following judges to this year’s Shootout:
Marci Philips, Executive Director of Primetime Casting for ABC Entertainment; Producer Teddy Zee (Charlie’s Angels); Director/Cinematographer Eric Lin (Exploding Girl); Actor and Producer Brian Yang (Hawaii 5-0); Actor James Kyson Lee (Heroes); and Actor Michelle Krusiec (Saving Face).
